I know I haven't blogged in ages. There's been a reason. We've kept something under our caps for awhile now, but here's the "official" announcement.
In a previous post I mentioned this little spot as being the prettiest piece of paradise I had ever seen.

Now I can say that we'll be moving to the country where this shot was taken. We will be on our way to Uruguay in a matter of weeks. If you don't know where Uruguay is located, it's the small country tucked beneath Brazil and next to Argentina.

It's a long way from here, but we're excited for the change. Our two dogs will be making the trip, too, so we have a lot in the way of pre-trip preparation to accomplish. We've already rented a great house on the beach in Punta del Este thanks to the help of our friends Dale and Cielito. All we have to do now is finish packing up our things here, try to sell our house, and be on our way!
Here are some pictures of the house we rented:

It's a duplex and that's our half.

You can see the ocean from the hammock on the deck in back!

Looking down on the kitchen.

One of the bedrooms.

The third bedroom.

The living room.

The other side of the living room.

Big windows in the living room looking out to the ocean.

The beautiful blue Atlantic on a sunny day.

A secondary living room.

The other side of the second living room with a fireplace.

The dining room looking toward the second living room.

The master bedroom.

The backyard.

An elevated quiet area.

The vaulted ceiling above the living room.

A little lemon tree growing in the backyard.
I'll try to make more posts as our move progresses. I haven't been doing much cooking, needless to say! I'll get back to that after we're all settled in Uruguay.
I'll end this post with a great picture. I know they say happy cows come from California, but California cows don't have the opportunity to go spend a relaxing day on the beach! I think Uruguayan cows must be far happier than California cows!

Date?
You didn't leave a date! I think yesterday was the big day, but I'm not sure.
We left the 10th and arrived
We left the 10th and arrived here at 9am on the 11th. It was a looooong trip! I'm sorry for not staying in better touch throughout. Internet access was sketchy.
