Getting Ready To Move

For us, getting ready to move was a months long process. I'm sorry I didn't get more pictures along the way, but it was just all so tiring. Every last thing we owned had to be sorted through: do we take it on the plane, if yes, do we take it now, in August, or whenever someone happens to come visit? If we don't take it on the plane do we want to pack it up to store in the rental unit, do we want to trash it, or do we want to try to sell it? I tell ya, my brain was about ready to call it quits near the end. I just wanted to throw EVERYTHING away. Thankfully our dumpster wasn't large enough for that. :)

Here's a picture I took of Penny with my phone. All the moving and packing and sorting really bothered her. She's a sensitive girl.

I also took this picture with my phone. I thought Zoe's and Penny's kennels looked funny together. I'll make another post about what it was like to take care of all the paperwork to ship our dogs to Uruguay ourselves.

The packing continues. I have to think the majority of our rental unit is books and dishes! :) My mom has so many great dishes it was really hard to sort through them and decide what to leave.

Shawn wanted all our books documented so we wouldn't accidentally buy duplicates when we didn't know what we had stored away. So every book box was numbered and we used a Google form to type in the title and author of all the books in each box. It took me quite awhile.

The bookcase began to empty...thankfully!

My back began to ache!

But I got there eventually. Looking back on it now, I can hardly believe we got through it all.

Penny can hardly believe it, either. :)

The boxes of books kept piling higher and higher.

Now there we're in Uruguay I really miss my Little House collection!

All that packing made Penny really tired. She decided to take a nap with her bunny, Ivan.
