There were two or maybe three snowfalls that were really pretty last year in Battle Creek. This was one of them. It was more like the snow I remember from my winter in Arkansas. The snow was wetter and heavier. It stuck perfectly to every single little twig on the trees. It was very, very pretty.

Kind of like what one would idealize as a winter wonderland on Christmas morning.

The trees were so very beautiful.

Even each fence post had a neat little snow cap on it.

It was very still, calm, and quiet outside that morning.

In some spots you could see the individual snowflakes. I always loved that.

As always, the timid Cardinals were waiting patiently in the lilac bushes for us to leave so they could go back to the bird feeders. The brilliant splash of bright red Cardinals bring to winter is so gorgeous. No more snowy winters for me!
